We accepted the invitation with great enthusiasm and pride to be the main sponsor of the 14th National Session of European Youth Parliament (EYP) Cyprus. The successful conference was overwhelmed by the participants with over 70% of them stating that they developed life longs skills through this experience that will be important for their future. The Pre departure gathering for our students studying at Derby University took place on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Presse Café Stavrou in Nicosia. The organizers of the event were Global Educational Services, exclusive representatives of the university in Cyprus, together with Derby Hellenic & Cypriot Society. The Society’s President, Fanis Maxoutis, welcomed the new students and gave a short speech about the action and work of the Society as well as useful tips for their smooth integration into the university. The Cypriot Government has decided on the temporary dismissal of national guardsmen of 2020 B 'ESSO who have secured places in English universities, helping these students start their studies before the tuition fees are increased and the student loans are no longer available next year. It is recalled that 522 males had expressed an interest in studying in Britain through the common platform set up by the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Education. Global Education organised a pre departure gathering together with the Reading Hellenic-Cypriot society on the 31st of August at Garden Day and Night in Nicosia. The 13th BASKETBALL SUMMER CAMP of Digenis Akrita Morfos NBA was completed with an absolute success at the indoor gym of Apostolos Varnabas High School in Strovolos. The club once again held with great success the summer Basketball Camp, for boys and girls aged 11-17, during the period 6-18 July. More than 60 children attended the event who had the opportunity to experience two weeks of intensive basketball. The results of the Pancyprian exams became available on the website of the ministry, education minister Prodromos Prodromou announced on Monday morning. Monday’s results show that of the more than 7,000 students who took them only 13 managed to get the perfect score of 20 out of 20. As in previous years, the average mark in core subjects remains below 50 per cent.
