On Tuesday, September 1st, the 4th Freshers Fair was crowned with absolute success at the Landmark Hotel in Nicosia. Organizers of the event were Global Education, Educational Advisors for Student Placement and Recruitment, and the National Student Union of Cypriots (EFEK), United Kingdom. The event was held with the participation of more than 30 Greek and Greek-Cypriot Student Associations based in England. Admission to the event was free. We had the pleasure to welcome at the Global offices, the president of the society Michalis Taliadoros and another member of the council Achilles Savvidis, to discuss the needs of society and their plans to support their members. During the visit, a check was handed over by the CEO of Global Educational Services, Chris Sofroniou, as a sponsorship to the Society for the new academic year 2020-2021. Parliament on Friday the 18th of September rejected a supplementary budget earmarked for the recruitment of contract soldiers that would have replaced conscripts who would have been given a postponement so that they could study in the UK without having to pay the higher fees that come into effect from 2021.
