It is a medieval old town with very distinctive architecture and buildings that have elements of German architectural influence. The most beautiful street is Vilniaus gatve. In the imposing building of the Town Hall, a Tower od 53 meters dominates, and it is a popular place for its festivals. At the confluence of the Neris and Nemunas rivers, one finds the beautiful and green Santakos Park. In the center of the city there are numerous restaurants, taverns, cafes and are all located within a radius of 2 km. The city vibrates from the intense student life and is without exaggeration the favorite city of the students.
