The foreign ministry is intensifying its support campaign for Cypriot students in the UK, starting with the launch of a food parcels programme today, coordinated by the National Federation of Cypriots in the country.
Food parcels include mainly Cypriot products and students who wish to receive them must state interest and submit their details through the web page https://cypriotfederation.org.uk/studentfood/
UK Cypriot students who need to contact a doctor can do so by sending an email at doctors@cypriotfederation.org.uk. Within the next few days, a direct line will be set up for this purpose.
Students in all countries who need medicines that are not available where they are, can submit a request for assistance through email at comunit@mfa.gov.cy, or call at (+357) 22 801000. Once practical difficulties in securing the medicines are justified, the foreign ministry will make an effort to send them from Cyprus, where conditions allow it.
On the UK Cypriot students, the ministry reiterates that all Cypriot citizens in the country, including students, have the right to use the NHS for their medicines, based on a bilateral agreement in place.
As of Tuesday, March 31, an internet platform will be set up to register all Cypriot citizens abroad, including students. Everyone is called to enroll in order to facilitate direct communication and keep information channels open for all issues that concern their welfare, while they remain abroad.
