Middlesex University

Fees
£9,000 for full-time undergraduates in 2014-15, with no charge for year-long work placements.
Bursaries/Scholarships
Middlesex University is offering 1,200 scholarships worth £2,000 to UK/EU students starting their degree in 2014. This will be awarded for the first
year of study as follows:
• £2,000 in the form of a cash award for UK students;
• £2,000 reduction in fees for EU students;
• A pro-rata amount will be delivered to part-time students.
You are eligible if:
• you are a care leaver or in receipt of disability living allowance, and you are in receipt of a full maintenance/special support grant;
• you are in receipt of a full maintenance/special support grant (have a household income of under £25,000 a year), achieve a minimum of 260
tariff points and select Middlesex University as your firm choice through UCAS.

Accommodation
Middlesex prioritises first-year students who have made the university their first choice and those from furthest away, therefore international first-year
students are given first priority. The options range from study bedrooms with en-suite facilities to traditional-style halls with shared kitchens and
bathrooms.
Added benefits include access to Wi-Fi, on-site security (overnight and at weekends) and a launderette in each hall. Rent prices per room range from
£121 to £139 a week.
Alternatively, students can live in private halls of residence or rent a room in a flat or house in the local area and surrounding towns.
Facilities
The campus offers state-of-the-art facilities. Middlesex has recently invested in The Grove – an £80m art, design and media centre equipped with a
Sony-designed TV studio, exhibition and events space; dance studios; rehearsal rooms; and digital and traditional dark rooms.
Other key buildings include:
The Rickett Quadrangle – a large, glass-roofed social space for students, and the focal point of the campus, surrounded by lecture theatres, classrooms and
IT laboratories.
The Hatchcroft building – one of the first buildings in north London to use eco-friendly, carbon-neutral geothermic heating, and equipped with laboratories
and specialist classroom facilities.
Ravensfield – dedicated performing arts building, with rehearsal studios, costume and props workshops, and a specialist Black Box theatre.
The Forum – home to the fully furnished gym and sporting facilities, including the Real Tennis court and outdoor multipurpose courts. Its large canteen
area has various food outlets, a recreational area with snooker and pool tables, and a stage area for evening events.
The Sheppard Library – the learning resources centre offers 900 open access study places, 500 open-access IT workstations as well as group work spaces,
quiet zones and computer labs.
Transport
The campus is based in north London with excellent transport links. It is a short walking distance from the underground and railway stations. There are
also a number of buses which serve the campus.
