University of Chichester has a unique learning environment – they are one of the smallest universities in the country which means there is a personal, friendly feel where everybody is somebody – not just a number. Most of the courses are taught in small groups of between 10 to 25 students. This means you have more time to ask questions and discuss your work with tutors and students.
ACCOMMODATION
The University of Chichester comprises two campuses based in Bognor Regis and Chichester, located in the county of West Sussex, situated close to the coast and countryside. There are plenty of local attractions to visit and beautiful places to explore.
Both locations are easily accessible from the major UK international airports of Heathrow and Gatwick and are about 90 minutes by train from London. The area is renowned for having the highest number of hours of sunshine in the UK!
- Chichester (Bishop Otter) Campus
The city of Chichester has a long history going back to Roman times and there are still many historic sites of interest such as the cathedral and the ancient city walls.
There is a vibrant arts and cultural scene with the famous Festival Theatre, cinemas, galleries, museums and the annual cultural festival held every July.
There is also a wide variety of restaurants, cafes and bars to suit every taste and budget. The city centre has great shopping with a mix of famous High Street stores and high quality independent clothes and shoe shops.
Chichester lies between two areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty – the South Downs and Chichester Harbour – as well as other nature reserves, stunning beaches and dramatic coastline to the south.
The Bishop Otter campus is set in beautiful surrounding, with plenty of green space to relax in. With a combination of attractive, historic buildings and excellent, modern facilities.
- Bognor Regis Campus
Bognor Regis started life as a fishing village which has grown to become one of the UK’s most famous seaside resorts and home to the Butlins Bognor Regis Resort the largest holiday centre in the South of England.
It has a mild climate and has been named the UK’s sunniest town. The main attraction of this popular seaside town is its long stretch of coastline, with a mixture of sandy and pebble beaches. Here you can take long walks or enjoy sailing, windsurfing, jet skiing and many other water sport activities.
The town centre is just a short, easy walk from the campus. Here you can find a range of shopping facilities, numerous traditional pubs, bars and restaurants as well as nightclubs
The Bognor Regis campus is just five minutes from the sea and boasts beautiful Georgian architecture including three grand mansion houses – St Michael’s, the Dome and Mordington House.
The campus underwent an extensive £8m redevelopment during 2010/2011.
